Shanghai Girls: a Novel

I just finished reading Shanghai Girls: A Novel by Lisa See. She is one of my favorite authors. She writes books that have rich characters and are full of Chinese History. In this book she tells of two sisters unbreakable bond and their endless hardships of living in and escaping a pre-WWII China and then living in a post-WWII America. I don't want to give away the story....You just need to read it!

Shanghai Girls: A Novel

A word of warning though. These girls endure unspeakable tragedies so I don't recommend this book if you have a weak stomach!

I have read a couple other books by Mrs. See such as Snow Flower and the Secret Fan: A Novel, Peony in Love: A Novel. They are very good books also!

So if you have a chance you should pick one of these great novels up and give it a chance. Just don't blame me if you cant put it down! I had a hard time doing anything other than reading these books, but I always have that problem!

  1. Sounds great! This is the type of book I love. I used to be in a book club and read great books all the time...I moved and am not in the club...I miss it. I will be checking this out. New follower.
